The story of our Chicago location goes back to 2020. When we first launched it in May, four years ago, Chicago was just our 11th location worldwide – and only our third in North America, alongside Miami and Toronto. Back then, we started with two servers in a closed rack at the New Continuum facility, using Netrouting for network upstream and hosting services.

Fast forward to today, and not only have we moved to the Netrality Chicago 717 S Wells data center, but we’re also excited to announce a major upgrade! We've added two new 10G servers, doubling the total to four and boosting capacity to a lightning fast 40G. With this expansion, Chicago remains a key part of our global network and is now one of 56 locations AzireVPN offers worldwide.

By expanding our Chicago infrastructure, we are able to continue meeting the growing demand for high-speed, privacy-focused services in the region.

Two additional servers were installed in this location, and as with all AzireVPN infrastructure, our Chicago servers are built with cutting-edge technology to ensure speed, security, and reliability:

  • Memory: 64 GB DDR4-2400
  • Network: 1 x 10GE Ethernet

All of the new servers run without persistent storage, are booted via PXE, and are maintained remotely – just like the original servers. The Chicago location supports WireGuard VPN tunnels with shared IP addresses and is available on all our apps already today.

For manual setup, configuration files can also be generated using our WireGuard configuration generator.
