The new Windows 2.0.3 update is finally here

Remember back in September when we launched the Beta version of our Windows client and asked for your help spotting bugs and sharing feedback? Well, you delivered! Your input was incredibly helpful and made a big difference in shaping the final version of the app. So, first off – thank you!

With your feedback and a bit of polishing from our development team, we’re excited to announce that the brand-new AzireVPN Windows client update 2.0.3 is now officially live!

What's new in version 2.0.3

Here's what we've updated:

We've updated the user interface to match the aesthetics of our other platforms using UWP (Universal Windows Platform). It’s now more intuitive, modern, and visually consistent, making it easier for you to navigate.

  1. A brand new windows service

This update introduces a new Windows service that handles all VPN and device-related settings in the background. This ensures better stability, performance, and seamless integration into your system.

  1. Simplified and cleaned-up settings menu

We’ve streamlined the settings menu for a more user-friendly experience. The previous options like auto-starting the app, auto-connecting the VPN after boot, and the kill switch are now neatly organized for easy access.

  1. Optimization for better battery life and lower system requirements

We’ve worked hard to reduce battery consumption and optimize system performance, ensuring that AzireVPN runs smoothly even on lower-spec devices.

  1. New minimum platform version requirement

To ensure the best performance and security, the new version of AzireVPN requires at least Windows 10 17763. If you’re using an older version, it’s time to upgrade for the latest features!

  1. Ability to launch AzireVPN via the terminal

We’ve added the ability to launch the app directly from the terminal by simply calling ‘azirevpn.’ This is perfect for advanced users looking for a more efficient way to interact with the app.

  1. Kill switch now disabled upon uninstallation

The extended kill switch feature was first introduced in AzireVPN Windows client version 1.5.2. While it’s an essential privacy tool for any VPN, we did receive some reports from users encountering issues where the kill switch would remain enabled even after uninstalling AzireVPN.

To enhance both safety and convenience, the kill switch will now automatically disable itself upon uninstallation of the app, ensuring no lingering security settings remain active.

As with any update, we've also made numerous stability improvements and bug fixes to ensure an overall smoother and more reliable VPN experience for users.
